In my experience was a hiring manager as well as a job candidate in the field of accounting, your next educational goal is best guided by your career choice once in the market. It can be a challenge to decide your ultimate goals now, so talking with others and undergoing some research or internships can be very helpful. Overall in my experience, you are deciding now between a career in accounting or a career in finance. If you are pursuing a career in accounting, such as a partner in an audit firm, a controller, director of technical accounting, research or policy, then pursue a Masters in Accounting. This will be a requisite as you progress. If you decide you prefer the finance side of the world, such as a director of finance, product development or CEO, you will benefit the most from an MBA.
If your goal is to work in accounting/finance in the US, I would strongly recommend that you pursue an MBA degree. With your prior work experience, you can elect an MBA with a focus in finance/accounting and this will make you marketable to US employers after graduation.
