I would recommend making a list of companies that you are interested in and then review there websites. This should give you a list of possibilities. You can supplement that with calls to the HR function to see if the company offers internships.

You should be as flexible as possible with regard to making yourself available for internships. If you have to commute as the conditions are manageable I recommend making the effort.

Today many companies source their new hire from interns who have shown promise during the time they worked.

When applying for an internship be as specific as possible in describing your skills and aptitude. I recommend focusing on the requirements.
