There are several types of Accountants. It all depends on what field you lean towards. You can be a Financial Accountant who is mainly responsible for the financial stability of the company. It involves creating financial statements, reconciliations, management consulting and financial & tax reporting etc. Or you can try get into the Managerial Accounting aspect of accounting, which deals more with cost management of a production company. You can specialize in a certain field of Accounting such as Taxing, Auditing, Management, Financial, Revenue.. etc. There are many certifications available for different types of Accounting which add a lot of value to your degree. Some organizations actually now require a certified accountant along with a bachelor's in the field.
I hope this helps.
