All types! Private or Public. Large or Small businesses...Large or Small cities. Full-time, Part-time and even seasonal. Accountants are virtually needed everywhere, all the time! You set the stage on where you want to work. Do you want to supervise or not? Do you want to specialize or do you want to be able to do a little bit of everything? Do you want to work close to home, or for more money you might have to commute, but most likely worth it.
YOU control many of these factors...that is the best thing about a career in accounting, it is flexible and you can tailor it to what you want to be.

Multiple careers are available depending on the path you take.

If you stay in Public Accounting, working for a CPA firm, you will progress from staff accountant, to Sr. Accountant, to Supervisor, Manager, then partner. You could specialize in Taxation, Audit, or Management Advisory.

If you take the private business route, i.e. work for non-CPA firm, you would start at staff accountant, progress to supervisor, then manager, then Controller, then Chief Financial Officer. There are also Financial Analysis positions available as well.
