Focus on your and education first. Do not choose an educational path based only on ideal locations to live in the future. If you're in college, then pursue electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering. If you're completing college, then you could possibly looking into the US Air Force. The Air Force has career paths for the operation of satellites, launch site work, and command and control. Some of these locations could result in you being stationed in locations in California and Colorado. Surely you'll find plenty of outdoor opportunities there.

That is a well rounded endeavor. You can have your career in Aerospace working for the military and enjoy hobbies like sailing/boating or mountaineering.
