At the regional airline level the pay for a commercial pilot ranges from (first year pay) about $20,000 to $100,000. There are exceptions to that if you hold specific roles such as work in training or chief pilot, etc, you may earn more.

Many regional airline pilots have a desire to go to a legacy airline such as Delta, United, American or US Air. The pay at these airlines is much better than described above at the regional level.

There are also cargo operations that have a different type of schedule and pay as well.
