Being in business for yourself is much harder than pursuing something you like. About 2/3 of new businesses fail in the first two years. The first thing you have to assess is whether there is a demand for your product or service. Customers should always be your focus. How will you attract new customers and how will you keep current customers?
If you have a passion for something, find a similar business in your area. Talk to the owner and find out how they started and what were their barriers to success. That will give you some idea if that passion has any commercial value.
