Experience is primary. Try to land a job as a Front Desk Agent and work your way up the chain that way. Night Audit would be great as well if you can manage to work overnight shifts, typically 11pm-7am. It would be wise to get experience in all aspects of the hotel, which an internship may provide.

Additionally, degrees in hospitality management exist. Despite the benefits, those are secondary.
