My recommendation is to do something based on your interests or hobbies.
A career in a field that ties to something you like doing can be more enjoyable and interesting than choosing something 'random.' On the other hand, not all hobbies translate well in careers that you can financially support yourself/family on.
Princeton Review has a website with career profiles. They also provide career quiz to help you along. http://www.princetonreview.com/careers-after-college.aspx
Hope this sets to you out on the right path.
Best of luck.
