I am very interested in pursuing a career as a sales consultant after I go through college. I have heard people say you must have a lot of experience in the field before you can consult on it. What is the best path to pursue starting now to develop myself into a great future consultant? ( I am currently in highschool)
Have an Answer?
It depends on if you are focused in sales development or practioning as a management consultant. If the former, a marketing degree is likely the way to go. If consulting, then look at a base degree in business, mathematics or finance and supplement with courses on organizational change management, analytics, business process analysis, management theory, communications and instructional design.
What do you mean by being a sales consultant?
Best advice to you is find a product you can get behind, go sell the dickens out of it...make yourself a millionaire young...then you can dispense more advice, and generate more millions training, coaching and developing other sales people.
Best of luck my young friend
