I have been working in the mortgage industry for 10 years (since I graduated from college) and I don't like it at all. I want to do something that helps people. I thought about counseling... Ideal job would be fun, traveling, and helping people. Do you have any suggestions on how to find more careers to possible look into?

Not sure if you're looking at counseling as a career path, or at consulting (which shows up as a tag under your question). While consulting, especially in the commercial arena, fits well with your idea of fun, traveling, and helping organizations, counseling is usually rooted locally, as you want to develop strong relationships with your clients.
I recommend that you get in touch with both a few consultants and a few counselors to talk about their experiences, career paths, and a "day in the life" snapshot. You'll have a much better understanding of what moves you and which direction to take. Happy to chat about consulting, if desired.
I would recommend looking into this website for a list of opportunities: www.idealist.org and http://mojalink.com/
