I remember reading somewhere that there has been no research published that indicates graduates from ivy league or other high-end colleges/universities obtain better jobs than those who graduate from the better state schools. Do as well as you can in college and focus on what you like to do.

Most new college graduates don't go directly into sales. Start by learning your chosen industry from the product or services perspective first. Customers like sales people who have a great understanding of what they are selling in addition to how it's used. Learn that first preferably from the development perspective then look into marketing and sales.
