I taught for over 20 years after a good career in business, so I did the opposite of what you are doing. There are many educational businesses that sell books, software, and other learning supplies who love to hire teachers. It takes one to know one, and teachers do great at selling educational materials because they have greater credibility. Check out vendors like Pearson, Lakeshore, Cengage, etc. You might also be able to get a job in medical sales, especially if you've taught science. Salespeople in the medical field are teachers because they must inform the medical professionals how to best use their products. I used to sell for Stuart Pharmaceuticals and it was one of them most fun jobs I've ever had - lucrative too, and I was able to make my own hours. Good luck!
