You have many years ahead of your personal and professional development. Congratulations on looking into colleges. The next four or so years will bring plenty of development and will encourage you to find out who you are, find your voice, and help fashion who you will become. Do not be afraid of being shy. Some people are. What matters in being a teacher is that you are committed to working with young people to help them develop into their fullest human potential. There are many teachers that have worked on being confident. Some of that takes time as you mature into an adult. It will come. As you complete your senior year you should focus on keeping your grades up, but also be gentle to yourself. So, to recap, the next four years or so will allow you to develop and you may become more confident as a result. Many a shy teenager has turned into a confident person over time. As far as teaching being right for you, think about whether you like working with younger people, and help people to develop. And, at this stage in your development, keep an open mind. You may find that you grow in another direction entirely. And that is ok. Just keep searching and you will find what is right for you.
