How much experience have you had working with kids? What age groups have you worked with? What age groups do you want to work with?

If you haven't had much involvement working with kids (coaching sports, tutoring, teaching, etc.) then your best bet for figuring out if your personality is right is to get some experience. You probably already figured that out though. Volunteer with a variety of age ranges in a teaching/tutoring aspect to really know which level you like best - in groups if you can. You may fit great with any, but you will probably find you are a great fit for a only certain age group.

Also, if you haven't done this already, I always suggest taking a personality test, such as the DISC or Strengthfinders - these won't determine your fit with children, but will give you great insight into yourself.

When I started teaching, I had grades 8-12, and always thought I would rather work with elementary students...until I had an opportunity to co-teach on a project with 3 graders and realized I was quite happy with my older students! I get along great with young kids, but have no desire to try to teach a group of them in a classroom.
