While I am not a pre-school teacher, I have taught at the college level. I think the best way is to reach out to others (including through this mentoring program) who are doing similar work that you are interested in. Ask if you can shadow them and visit with them about their work. Many people are thrilled that you have an interest in their work and want to learn more. I would ask multiple people to gain different perspectives about the work.
