To be an effective educator, one must have a passion for working with ALL children and earnestly believe that ALL children can and will learn if provided the proper opportunity to do so. Good classroom management is essential at any grade level. Without this skill, a person will struggle and be frustrated, so will the students.

Flexibility is a critical trait in that the education field is constantly changing. The ability to work with families is very important as well.

With that being said, there is nothing like the feeling when a student has been struggling with a particular concept and ends up understanding as a result of hard work and persistence/perseverance.

Additionally, the benefits are usually some of the best offered in the professional world, especially if one is fortunate to work in a state with a pension system. The time off is earned and well deserved for those that put their heart and soul into this incredibly important profession.
