I was in the same situation and I was able to find opportunities on Craigslist. Most of these opportunities are unpaid, but this will allow you the freedom to work around your current schedule. I worked on the set of a TV show that was shooting locally and everyone working on the set had a regular full time job so they did most of the shooting and production work during nights and weekends. If you're truly passionate about it, it won't seem like work. It will also allow you to meet people in your area who are in the film industry, which will most likely lead to future projects for you to work on (as long as they like your work ethic). The thrill of working on a set is amazing and even with the long hours (some production days ran for 15 hours), it is extremely fulfilling. Once you get your first project under your belt, it will be easier to find paid work.
Hope this helps!
