Writing is not a world that is easy and doesn't always pay that well in the early going. If you want to do this, take inventory of your skills. Be patient and be inspiring. To attract JH and High school students to this event, you will have bring forward some enticing, creative, encouraging thoughts and approaches. The idea and conept is great and much needed. Remember that too many people don't know how to write or to express themselves. They don't have vocabulary or the grammar. They are in a world of emojees and short cuts.

I absolutely think that it could be! Every initiative requires dedication, planning, and cooperation with key players involved. If I personally were to create a similar event in my hometown, I would first plan out who could participate, what the writing event would require from each applicant, what the incentives would be for students to participate (prizes, scholarships, etc...) and what the deadline would be. I would next approach principals and activities coordinators at the schools and pitch them your idea. Once a few agree, try and get a local news station to do a story on your event - this will spread awareness and enlist more participants. Hope this helps!
