First, get yourself photographed and create an 'album' to bring to various modeling agencies. I assume you have the 'looks' of a model and the confidence you see on the runway just comes from experience strutting along! Their appearance and outfits make them look confident and yet they might have anxiety at times that comes with any 'job' one has.

Second, DO get your degree/s as a backup, as getting work as a model is hard enough and generally does not have a long life to it. Much success...

Why not pursue both? To be successful in most careers involves a level of confidence. This is a separate topic of discussion from career choice. Balancing dreams and goals are really just a matter of working with a mentor to create an action plan and then doing it.

Fashion is really all around us. I normally get inspired in thrift or vintage shops. These places to me have so much character about them that you can really do anything you want with the clothing. Modeling on the other hand is a little different. I would start by watching fashion shows and possibly signing up for modeling classes. It is all about your natural movement on the runway. Hire a photographer for a photo shoot and see how you do with it.
Balancing your dreams and goals will come once you figure out you PASSION. Your passion will never die no matter what you career is full time.

I hope this helps!
