You will probably need both courses to do what you want. I would suggest you talk to the teachers who are scheduled to teach the classes. Unless one of the teachers seems like a complete pushover, take the class with the teacher you like best first. If the same teacher is teaching both classes, their advice will be useful.
Investment banking and asset management are different flavors of a similar skill set. I suggest you do not limit your thinking to working for investment banks. There is lots of asset management work available outside of banks. Depending on the organization you work for, your job will be a mix of money/portfolio management, selling, and personnel management. It would be a good idea to get a feeling for what mix would make you happy.
