I am very fascinated by the amount of time and research investors put into their work to become successful traders. I am a undergraduate finance major looking into a career in the investment industry. I am wondering what different type of careers are available in trading?
My interest lies in holding companies, hedge funds, banking, and private equity.

From my experience and what I read hedge funds would be last on your list. My understanding this is a very volatile market for the investor. My advice to you is to contact any investment company human services department. Any investment company that will sit down with you would be worth doing a summer apprentice with. That is the best way to gain the experience and knowledge you need to make an educated decision.
