Just because you like history, doesn't mean you have to go into teaching. Studying history gives you a fairly dynamic and useful skill set - critical thinking, efficient writing, etc. You could go into anything from Law to Journalism to Business if you know how to apply these skills well.
And you don't have to just have history be your favorite subject. You could study and have an interest in many different things, and study them all. Most colleges and universities now have the option to Double-Major where you can study two different programs and get degrees for both.
I myself am a history and literature teacher and I love it. I love to see students when they finally come to realize something different. I don't think there's anything like being a teacher and I would encourage you to look into it if you're already considering it.
