If you like or enjoy the course work and have a career in mind that would suit your interests, you can make a fine engineer. I would suggest looking into a few different careers in the engineering field to determine what you would enjoy.
I personally am a design engineer and do not get to work in a factory with heavy machinery like some of my friends in maintenance engineering.

I'm a medic by trade in the Air Force but we have a unit on base that is consistent with civil engineering. the types of work range from small construction projects to the detail work of laying out design and networking. Engineering has many avenues that you can pursue and not all of them require being in a factory. The only limitations are the ones that you believe in.
