Being pretty good with math is essential if you want to be an engineer, BUT, I would not go into engineering if you want a career that emphasizes math. Math is just a necessary requirement for getting through engineering school.

For a focus on math, you could (of course) be a math major and then specialize in statistics (as a career field) or consider becoming an actuary (a good-paying career field). Either of those jobs should satisfy your math appetite and be solid career choices as well.
