Nursing has a variety of areas you can work in. There are patient care areas such as ED, ICU, pediatrics, and many more. If you enjoy the fast paced scene, you can become a flight nurse or critical care transporter. They often work with paramedics and transport patients from the field to the hospital. There are also nurses that work in administration who do not work directly with patients. Case managers help patients with the resources they will need when they leave the hospital. There are advanced degree nurses such as nurses anesthetists (provide anesthesia to patients in the OR). Some nurses become nurse practitioners and work at doctors offices. They can diagnose and write prescriptions. This is not even close to a complete list of careers in nursing!
