There are so many things you can do with a nursing degree. The question is what do you want to do with it once you get it. During nursing school, you are exposed to every type of job you can have as a nurse during your clinicals. Clinicals is where you actually apply what you have learned in your class courses. During your clinicals, you are exposed to the ER, OR, clinics, hospice/end of life care, NICU, ICU, pediatrics, geriatrics, community nursing, Med/Surgical units. I know I am forgetting a lot of places you are exposed to. That being said, the exposure to all of these environments usually helps a person decide what their passion is. I found out my passion during nursing school. My passion was oncology so I took my first job in an out patient clinic at a famous hospital in oncology and have been an oncology nurse for 18 years. Good luck.
