I have been a pharmacist for over 20 years. If I had to do it over again, I would. It is a demanding career, but when you are in the medical field that is to be expected. I don't know what made you interested in the first place. If you have not had any experience I would recommend you get some. I went to school with some people who did not and were in shock when they found out what a pharmacy career is. Good Luck!

All areas of pharmacy practice are different. Professional pharmacy school is 4 years. The total schooling in all is either 6 years or 8 years depending on if you have a guaranteed seat or are accepted into a fast track program. I would suggest job shadowing a pharmacist not only in a retail (CVS/Walmart)setting, but also getting in contact with your local hospital's human resource dept and seeing what options are available for shadowing there.
