That's a really tough one. You either need to get really lucky, go back to school, or find a way to slowly transfer your skill set across the board until you can get a job that is similar to career, basically forming a bridge. I recommend taking a free class online. There are a lot of great resources if you dig hard enough, but the best is called Coursera. Completely free. Then you can see if you're ready for school, take one class at a time with no risk or monetary obligation, and at the end you can demonstrate to an employer that not only are you motivated, but you went back and relearned all of the necessary material to get yourself sharp.
