There are many companies, independently operated, that plan events.
There are two organizations you might consider joining, MPI or Meeting
Professionals International and PCMA Professional convention m anagement
association. Atttending their meetings would expose you to many people in the
industry who could steer you in the right direction.
Also you need to define "event planning" . Are you referring to conferences which have
events during the meeting-be it off site events or a dinner at the hotel? Or are you strictly
referring to events which take place outside of a hotel. There is party planning, incentive planning, meeting planning. It goes on and on..
