I recommend taking available courses such as recruitment, employee/labor relations, training/development, compensation, risk management, benefits, and strategy. I would also check to see if your college/university offers a major in Human Resources or Industrial Relations. If not, you may want to look at a Business degree with an emphasis/specialty in Human Resources. Another option is to enroll a HR Management certificate program. Many colleges offer this program via their extension with options to take courses in the classroom or online.
