As far as staying relevant in computer science, the biggest advantage of currently being in school and starting off your career is that you can become familiar with the newest technologies. One of the cons of having been in industry is that you become focused on a particular technology stack, and you keep getting jobs with that current stack, and and sometimes the industry moves in another direction.
