You can create your own opportunities. Join the chamber of commerce in that city and have them send you out the directory that lists all the companies that do business. Then you cold call all those companies by sending them your resume and a cover letter introducing yourself and your plans to relocate to that city.

Craigs list is a very good place to find jobs.

Lastly, focus on how you can create some consulting opportunities for yourself in case you arrive and no job is forthcoming. Hope t his helps
