Step 1 - Take charge of yourself, be positive-minded and look at every step in life as an opportunity to learn. Keep your mind open.
Step 2 - Get into action. Start applying for jobs. Walk into places and start applying for jobs and meeting people.
Step 3 - Plan your short-term and long-term goals.
Step 4- Take care of your health and fitness, the most important.

It's your lucky day (: I was out on my own at 17 and I have a treasure trove of knowledge about life and present day society and what it takes to make the most of what you have. Have a brain? So do I and it's a fine one. You might be pleasantly surprised when someone can help you "cut to the chase" for success.

One of the first things you should is discover what interest you. Whatever your interest are there is a career out for it. What are some of your interests? Or what are some things that you are good at and enjoy doing.

This is going to be a very generic answer because I don't know anything about your situation other than what you shared. Do you have any idea of what type of career you are interested in? People can help you figure out how to get there once you set a goal. One thing you can start doing if you aren't already is develop self-discipline and a good work ethic. Find a job, show up on time, do good quality work, present yourself in a professional manner, and don't be afraid to take on more responsibility at work. Be a leader. Don't be afraid to work hard. Don't think you need a boyfriend to be happy. It is time to work on you. It's a great sign that you are reaching out for help. For real life mentoring, you might want to try some local organizations such as churches, support groups if you have any specific issues, or even activity clubs to surround yourself with positive people.

I'm not sure how this site works yet - not sure if you can reply.
