I am a senior government/anthropology double major interested in pursuing a law degree after I graduate. I have a very light course load this semester, and my college has a highly ranked law school, how do I go about establishing connections with the faculty? I am thinking of inquiring about research positions but I am not sure how to increase my appeal as a potential research assistant (or how commonly research positions are offered to undergrads). Thank you

I have only seen law students serve as law professor faculty research assistants. And to obtain such a position, you must perform very well in your law class (at least top 25% I would assume).
