I would say that first, a marketing degree will get you an entry level junior position that will suck. Instead of paying too much for a bunch of gobblygoop, I would recommend you look into copy writing. It will teach you how to position companies and yourself so you can connect on a congruent level with your prospects.

The secret to marketing is not to sell to anyone. It's just to connect and inform people on solutions to their problems. As marketers we're either leading people toward a solution or leading them away from a problem. Consumers are either gaining a benefit or acquiring a solution.

A marketing degree is not going to get you a marketing job, which is crazy sounding, I know, but look up all of the famous marketers of our time. Brian Tracy, Anthony Robbins, Dan Kennedy, Frank Kern, Mike Filsaime, Jeff Walker, John Carlton and so many more. None of them have degrees. They all took marketing up as a hobby because they loved it, not because marketing sounded good.

You can learn more from books and youtube on your own than you ever could from a college course. Save your money, and Google the people I mentioned.

Hope this helps.
