You can perform a number of different jobs across just about every industry with a marketing degree. It really depends on what type of work you enjoy doing. If you love research and analyzing data like myself, marketing research might be something you want to take a look at. If you like writing copy (articles, promotional material, etc.) PR could be a good direction. A marketing degree may also be applicable to advertising, graphic design, database management, social networking, and a bunch of other things.
if you have an idea of the type of work you might want to do post college start catering your classes and internships around that. That way as you're progressing through your college career you have those experiences that you can either say "you know what, I really enjoyed this" or "this wasn't quite my thing, I want to try something else."
