That is just one part of the career. My mother-in-law had a successful company. I am using the past tense because she has retired. I am in the medical profession, but believe it or not, an event planner is the most stressful job out there!
You will need to have a degree in marketing. The creative part is also necessary. You always need a Plan A and a Plan B. She worried before each and every event if people would show up, about the weather, the catering, the speakers, the decor, etc, etc, etc. She LOVED it and she was great. She received countless awards. She was in charge of Toys for Tots in her community. That is very rewarding.
If it is your passion, go for it!
