The best way is to just get your hands dirty. Shadowing and seeing first hand how the practice of medicine occurs on a daily basis is the only way to truly determine if it is a good fit for you. I have had colleagues who went through years of training only to find that the daily tasks of medicine simply didn't suit their personalities. Fortunately, the field of medicine is big enough that it can accommodate various interests and education levels, from an MA up through physicians with nuanced specialties. Start with what sounds fun to you and go find somebody to follow.
