This is a hard choice. I too working through those decisions. I guess first my question to you would be are you on a science tract or nursing tract in school? Is being a surgeon your only medical goal?

I ultimately became a Physician Assistant and I could not be happier. I applied to medical schools for 3 years. Because of a variety of reasons I decided to stop applying. I became a nurse and then a PA. There are many reasons I picked PA over NP and would happy to go into detail if you would like.

I think you should think about what appeals to you about becoming a doctor. Is it the prestige, salary, life style? And what about being an NP? What do you feel are the differences between the two? Have you looking at physician assistant?
