I was in your shoes many years ago and I found that reading books that I enjoyed helped tremendously. However, as a medical student, you will need to be able to read and critically evaluate research so another thing you can do is reading an article in the New England journal of medicine which is on a topic that interests you. Read each section and summarize in 2-5 sentences what the section talks about. In the end summarize the entire article and to take it a step further ask yourself is this a good study, are there other questions that you feel need answering before any changes in healthcare could be implemented and lastly how would this affect my care of patients.
