You have to ask yourself if you would rather defend the public or animals. Both jobs require post-college schooling. Both schools are expensive as well. Vets do not make nearly as much as lawyers but they have a much more stable job. Lawyers can make alot of money but job security is difficult due to a saturated field.
An easy way to decide would be to take classes of law and life sciences in college, see which you truly like and go for it.
