The medical field is one that is projected to grow in the coming years. We definitely need more caring people as nurses, as there is a projected shortage nationwide. I have family members who started out as an LPN and then went on to become RNs or Army medics.

You do not need to go to a university/college to become an LPN, but you do need to attend a school (such as a vocational school). Also, know there are many scholarships available.
