Psychology and psychiatry are completely different. Psychology is mainly therapy while psychiatry is mostly medicine with a bit of therapy. A psychiatrist is a physician (MD or DO) so you'll have to go through medical school first. A psychologist can be a person with a PhD, PsyD or Master's degree. Request me as a mentor if you have further questions, I'm actually a psychiatry resident.
