I think it's great that you're clear on earning a certain living. That is critical to long-term happiness. I think several people have made the mistake of going into caregiving or nursing, or to be disappointed by their income potential later down the road.
I am a licensed nursing home administrator and an assisted living manager. My job is operational in nature, but has all of the benefits of serving people as well.
Would you be able to identify a group of people that you want to help most? That may help you narrow down your career path. For example, would you enjoy working with children, the elderly, veterans, etc.?
