If medicine is your goal, you can do missionary medical work. It's really rewarding and you get to travel the world.

Have you considered travel nursing? Its pretty much what it sounds like. You get a degree in nursing, probably a 4 year degree. So, you would be an RN (registered nurse). You would then travel to areas where there is an opening for a nurse, perhaps temporary. Then you work there for awhile, days or weeks or months, then move on, perhaps when they find a permament replacement for that position. You would work for a company that employs travelling nurses, and they would assign you to different areas.
Also, there are similar arrangements for primary care physicians.
