Take as much math as you can now to prepare yourself for that day. Utilize the resources (tutoring especially) they give you at the college/university you choose to attend. Don't be afraid to ask for help, especially from your professor. Ask your peers if anyone would be interested in forming a study group and pick a date and time to meet on a weekly + basis.

It depends on what you mean by not being very good. I am a pharmacist. I have a good friend who is my dentist. On a daily basis I need to use Algebra. I have never, ever used Calculus since college. So my answer is as long as you can get through it, you'll be okay. But you will need Algebra in your job. Good Luck!

Think ahead- look for a tutor prior to the experience, connect with a classmate to study with, stay in contact with your instructor for assistance and guidance. Don' t let yourself get behind stay on top of what you don't understand. And always tell yourself that you can do this - so many others have and so can you if you desire.
