IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ARE INTERESETED IN. A BASIC NURSING COURSE WILL DELVE INTO GENERAL NURSING AS WELL AS THE SPECIALTY AREAS AVAILABLE TO YOU SO YOU WILL HAVE SOME EXPOSURE TO MOST AREAS IN THE HOSPITAL SETTING. YOU MIGHT CONSIDER BEING A VOLUNTEER AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL TO SEE WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN THE HOSPITAL SETTING. FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, BEING A NURSE GIVES YOU THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE AREAS WHERE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AND WHERE YOU ENJOY WHAT YOU ARE DOING. AFTER MANY YEARS OF NURSING I HAVE NEVER REGRETTED MY CAREER CHOICE AND HAVE GIVEN MOST AREAS IN THE HOSPITAL SETTING A PART OF MYSELF. I SETTLED ON OB AND NEONATAL ICU BECAUSE IT WAS A PERFECT FIT. . YOU WILL FIND A PLACE THAT SUITS YOU AND YOU WILL KNOW IT IN YOUR HEART. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
