I recommend you attend VMI first, then if you are still interested in the military, you can join from there as a commissioned officer. Completing college first will give you more job opportunities in both the civilian sector and military.

VMI is recognized state military college. You can go to VMI without a military obligation. They refer to these cadets are drill and ceremony cadets. Those cadets who choose to take a commission are referred to as contract cadets. Contract cadets will receive classes on military leadership as well as learning the officer qualification standards. You should talk to the VMI college recruiter for information
