Any branch you choose will help with training, direction, courage, discipline, and a paid for college education (they will help you get ready for college too). Alexander has great tips below...go to all recruiters and don't just go with what the first one tells you. If you can't find a recruiter in your area, go online, they have them where you can chat and get a feel for it.

Hello, I am a veteran and may be able to help you.
The first question that you must ask yourself is what mission are you interested in (ex. maybe you want to save lives. In this case, maybe the Coast Guard would be good for you).
The second would be what kind of work you want to do within your chosen branch of the military (Ex. maybe you choose the Coast Guard. Do you want to be a rescue swimmer? An aviation mechanic? Etc.)

My best advice is to research different branches of the military. Find a branch you are interested in and talk to a recruiter.

Please see the below links for websites for the different services:

I hope this helps. Feel free to respond if you have any questions.
